Dr. Preetam Ganu
Gynaecologist & Obstetrician | Founder of Full Circle Care
Hello, I am Dr Preetam Ganu, and I am a specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with a keen interest in improving women’s health and delivering the highest standard of professional care for women with a warm personal touch. I am very passionate about women’s healthcare, and I continuously keep myself updated with the latest developments in this field of medicine.
I have trained extensively in Australia and hold Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists after completing similar medical training in India. My broad experience in this field spans over various cities and hospitals, in Australia as well as overseas.
Prior to starting my private practice, I worked in regional hospitals like Bowral, Gawler and Port Augusta. Apart from my private practice commitments, I am a casual specialist consultant at Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Adelaide. I am attached to and operate at Ashford Hospital and Flinders Private Hospital.
I had the amazing opportunity to work with Associate Professor Dr Susan Evans, an advocate in Pelvic Pain, this inspired and further developed my passionate interest in pelvic pain. I am part of the Adelaide Pelvic Pain Network, a network of likeminded professionals who are committed to helping people with Pelvic Pain. I am also involved in Fertility treatment and am currently completing my Masters in Reproductive Medicine.
If I was asked to describe myself, I would say, friendly, sincere, calm, and confident. I pride myself in being thorough, taking the time to listen to all your concerns, and address them with you. I like to discuss all the different management options available and individualise the treatment for you, in collaboration with you.
Childbirth is a magical experience and I love the bond that I get to develop with women and their families during this special time. This is part of why I started my private practice, the nurturing, and
the continuity of care that I can provide, I truly feel humbled and grateful every day that women choose me as their Obstetrician.
I love to empower women with education and quite often try to explain with pictures and diagrams, seems I am quite the artist! I am involved in and often speak at workshops and conferences providing specialist education to other healthcare professionals in Australia and Overseas. I keep myself busy with learning new developments and attending conferences and webinars and participating in research.
I am very grateful for all the support provided to me by my Practice team, Ashford and Flinders Private Hospital and their respective theatre teams, it really is a group collaboration.
Apart from English, I am fluent in Hindi, and Marathi languages, I believe this has also given me a better understanding of, and intricacies of different cultures. My passion for volunteering and the ability to be able to give back to our local community in any small way possible, led me to start a language school here in Adelaide, as such I am a Founder and Principal of the Ethnic Language School Adelaide Marathi Vidyalaya, and I regularly present on multicultural radio. I have also held the position of Committee Secretary for the South Australian Indian Medical Association.
On a personal note, I am married and a mother of two beautiful girls. I love to dance and catching up with friends. I am an art enthusiast and do some paintings in my spare time (if I get any!)
"I keep myself up to date with latest development in Medical field."
